Another day, another blizzard

It takes a lot to shut life down around here.  We don't fold 'em for subzero, we don't quit over snow that comes half-way to our knees.  We just suit up and get out there and push the car out of the drift and live life on schedule.

Today, however we have enough "lot" to shut every school and many businesses.  There's a foot of snow out there blasting horizontally and tiny flakes still falling vertically.  Usually young men with shovels are expected to dig us out of snowstorms, but today I'm waiting to hear back from the man with the plow.  He's a busy man, though and it might take until tonight or even tomorrow before he can catch up with calls.

I just hope he gets to it before we run out of groceries.  Those young men have a hungry look about them this morning.

Hey Sim, I hope it's not Homer you're relying on to did you out of the snow. Cos you know how reliable he is.
I wish we'd been told we couldn't go to work due to snow. Last year we couldn't go in cos our roads were like rivers.
We've sadly only had a few flakes this winter. And today it's been bright and sunny.

Doh! I did call Homer!

Of course they can't expect me to show up for work until I'm dug out of here, right? Yeah, tell them I'll be in sometime after Easter.

No sunshine here, I'm afraid. Or maybe there is...with all of the snow still falling it's hard to see.
